ADVANCEMENT – Business Process Alignment

Are you an existing Oracle E-Business Suite customer that just doesn’t feel your solution is delivering the maximum benefit to your users or your business? PCL recognise that you are not alone and that often implementations and upgrades do not realise all their objectives. In many cases this has occurred in a controlled manner to manage scope, timescales and costs of the original projects.

What PCL offer is a collaborative Business Process Alignment project. We believe that our experience of the Oracle E-Business Suite processes and the many projects and clients we have served, allow us to identify areas of opportunity for both your users and business bottom line to take improvements. The most cost effective solutions in terms of the ‘total cost of ownership’ are those where your chosen processes are closest to the standard Oracle E-Business processes. We understand of course that the standard processes are not suitable for every customer, but it is often the case that even small steps closer to the standards can be cost effective.

We do not see this project as ‘the first step to identifying an upgrade opportunity’. It is our experience that our customers’ commission a Business Process Alignment project when an upgrade is not a prospect and this initiative is seen very much as part of an organisations continuous improvement and efforts to reduce costs and make change self funding.

The Business Process Alignment project is totally collaborative and we work closely with you to consider the ‘costs’ and ‘benefits’ of each alignment prospect. Our input to this is detailed advice on how to achieve the best from Oracle Applications drawing on both our functional and technical experience.

The approach and objectives of the Business Process Alignment project area;

  • Review your current business and system processes
  • Understand any customisations and enhancements
  • Identify alignment opportunities, for example
    • Input processes
    • Reporting
    • Month end
    • Outputs – such as invoices, purchase orders and remittance advice notes
    • Workflow
  • Present high level costs and benefits for each.

We use a tried and tested simple 4 stage approach to each Business Alignment project.

  • Phase 1 – Business Alignment Assessment
  • Phase 2 – Business Alignment Planning
  • Phase 3 – Implementation
  • Phase 4 – Review and Confirm Improvements

Why not commission Phase 1 of the project and find out what how much you could improve your solution and your ‘total cost of ownership’?
